Mary on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch "I'm just not passionate about my work"
The experience of meeting Donny Deutsch and Marianne Williamson was an amazing part of my journey. By being a guest on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch I learned more about myself than I intended to. I learned that I needed to shift my focus on helping motivate others to find what I have struggled to find myself - empowerment through fitness. So, I started Get Into Fitness by Mary Alexander to do just that. By watching this clip you'll see that I mentioned a goal of being able to do work I'm passionate about by the time I'm 40 and I'm doing that now. This couldn't have happened without the empowerment I feel by living a fit lifestyle.
Mary on TLC's Ten Years Younger: "I never thought I'd be a frumpy mom"
Just two years ago, to take a look at me on this tv show I was a completely different person. I looked insecure, sad, feeling old and thinking I needed botox as a cure! Well, I got botox alright and I got restylane (a great face filler actually) - all of which are temporary. I haven't touched it since. Of course I looked younger. I had access to my own personal, talented, "best of the best" dermatologist. I finally had gorgeous skin too. The question is whether I felt younger? That's when I decided that I needed to take control of my own transformation and that it started with smarter food choices and getting moving again.
What I realized after watching my 10 Years Younger segment was that it wasn't the quick fix that I needed but rather a full life makeover. After Getting into Fitness I'm completely transformed and without the need for temporary injectables and face fillers. I was looking old and out of shape because I was living like an old and out of shape woman - crawling through a sedentary lifestyle and not taking care of myself. Don't get me wrong, this show was a blast to film and a wonderful experience. I was able to meet and work with extremely talented people who are all gifted in their specialties. I thank all the lovely people on the show for giving me the opportunity. The experience made me realize I was being hard and judgmental on myself and that I just needed to move in a different direction and get myself into fitness! Two years later I'm a powerhouse and certainly not the same woman who went on that show.
